About Us

In 2006, footy enthusiast James McKay came up with a brilliant way for kids to have fun and get active in the fresh air.

Sports Rulz parties are an action-packed footy, soccer or cricket adventure where kids of all ages can learn some skills, develop coordination and team spirit and most of all, have a ball!

Getting kids laughing and running around outside is not only loads of fun, it’s also a great way to combat the growing obesity epidemic by showing them some healthy habits through play.

This unique party experience means parents can relax while kids enjoy the fun and games. And because Sports Rulz is totally mobile, the party comes to you.

Sports Rulz is great for birthdays, schools and after-school care, holiday programs, or even Corporate Team Building for 'big kids'.

"We were kicking a plastic footy around in the back yard with a friend's kids and they were having such a great time that she said, 'You guys should do kids' parties!’. So I came up with the concept for Sports Rulz and it was an instant hit with kids and parents — they just love it."

Meet James McKay (aka "Coach Jamo")

Activities Coordinator/Legend

James is an avid sports fan who supports and plays a great variety of sports, with footy as his number one love. He kicked off his footy career at the age of ten and hasn't missed a season since! At age 17, he scored a spot on the Sydney Swans under 19's squad.

He then played VFA for Oakleigh, and Southern League for Carnegie (7 years) and Tooronga/Malvern (3 years), appearing in three premierships and one grand final (his team came second...)

After a two-year break in Denmark, where he coached the Holter Hawks Seniors & Juniors Aussie Rules Football Team, James returned to the field in Australia. He now plays for St Marys Salesian Football Club in the Victorian Amateur Football League – and coaches Sports Rulz!
